**Purpose/Key Accountabilities**:
A leading Maritime company is seeking an experienced data controller. The data controller will be responsible for the data processing in the office according to company processing procedures.

**Detailed Responsibilities**:
Use company's processing software suits to process the RAW data under the supervise of department head, this shall include but not limited to:

- Import geophysical data sets from the on-line packages.
- Manipulate the coordinate and geodesy parameters.
- Generate contours from a data set using a software program.
- Produce and display 3D visualisation of digital terrain models.
- Produce the coverage overlap & mosaics for the SONAR datasets.
- Interpret standard seabed structures, pipeline support status, debris items, and standard seabed morphology from side-scan sonar records.
- Determine depth of burial of pipelines and significant layers from sub-bottom profiler records.
- Identify anomalies from Magnetic Field Contoured.
- Compare raw and processed data sets and discuss results with department head and identify data sets that do not meet defined acceptance criteria.
- Export the results to the charting software to produce a chart series.
- Draw & plot charts & maps to a specified company design.

Assist in the preparation of project reports writing this shall include:

- Present survey data in tabular format.
- Present survey data in graphical format.
- Write instrumentation and survey methodology sections of survey reports.
- Print documents on local/network printers/plotters with acceptable print quality for client submission.
- Monitor consumable levels.

Create and use a standard directory structure for file management both online and offline systems this will inclulde:

- Prepare electronic and hard copy filing system
- Keep processing data, reports and progress logs (revisions) up to date
- Maintain processing directories
- Perform data back-up and archiving of full project data for transfer to offshore stuff
- Maintain all hard copy data records.
- Assist in the preparation for a job (including online field and survey line files).

**Key Performance Indicators**:

- Instrument care & handling
- Work effectively under time constraints to finish the required jobs in the predefine time frame.

**Requirements**:
**Education**:
1. Faculty of Engineering Geomatics or Civil.

2. Faculty of Arts, maps & Surveys section.

**Experience**:

- Min. 5 years experience in the filed of processing, cartographic techniques and presentation.
- Have a working knowledge of real-time survey data acquisitions.

**Competencies**:

- Seamanship.
- Knowledge of appropriate marine terminology.
- Resourceful.
- Resilient.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- The ability to check and correct reports written by others.

**Skills**:

- Install and configure the offline processing software systems
- Comprehensive understanding of the offline processing modeling & analysis software: EIVA, Triton & HYPACK.
- The good use of Microsoft office suit: word, excel, access & power-point.
- have a good keyboard typing skills.
- The good using of AutoCAD 2D & 3D for charting.
- The ability to configure, connect and use network, printers, plotters & storage devices.
- Basic fault finding and repair ability for PCs & plotters and change/replace consumables.
- Have a good understanding of database tech.
- Excellent command in both written & spoken English.
