**About this opportunity**

We are looking for a competent person for our Tax Management role in Egypt, to ensure compliance with tax legislation, mitigate tax risks, provide practical tax advice and ensure high quality in tax accounting and reporting. This role is functionally responsible for the activities as described below:
**Responsibilities**:

- Manage Direct taxes including withholding tax -Responsible to ensure compliance for all direct tax-related matters for the local legal entities / local branches
- Manage Indirect Tax (including ensuring all VAT Compliances)
- Management of Transfer Prices - Ensure compliance with TP policy of the Group in line with local country Transfer Pricing legislation & file documents in relation to Transfer pricing as per local requirements
- Responsible for computation of Income Tax/Advance tax/Tax Provisions/Deferred tax, undertake tax reporting & comply with related SOX Controls
- Manage Tax assessments / Tax audits, handle direct & Indirect tax litigation, appear before authorities and independently deal with consultants/ lawyers
- Interface with Statutory Auditors and support the finance team in the finalization of statutory audits
- Provide strong support to Management in business planning & strategizing in all tax matters
- Develop sound understanding of business & partner with the business to provide timely support in decision making, with close co-ordination with the business teams to monitor and manage tax risks
- Coordinate with Regional & Global tax team, share required details and imbibe best practices
- Keeping up to date with changes in all tax-related compliance requirements and sharing knowledge and updates
- The position will report to the Regional Head of Tax and will be based in Cairo.
- There may be opportunities to handle tax matters for one or two additional countries in the Region ME & Africa (i.e., in addition to Egypt), in due course

**Key Qualifications**:

- Minimum 7- 8 years of dedicated post-qualification experience in Tax Management, in a medium / large sized Multinational company, and preferably having worked in Big 4 Accounting Firms in their tax functions
- Extensive experience in local and international tax legislations, including corporate tax, transfer pricing and international tax & in interpreting International Tax Treaties
- Knowledge in general / local GAAP & IFRS (especially those related to Taxes)
- A general understanding of ERPs such as SAP, with fair Accounting skills
- Interpersonal skills with good command over English & preferably also in Arabic language
