We are looking for an experienced attorney to support Amazon’s rapidly growing operations in Egypt. We are a customer obsessed organization, and love to challenge ourselves all the time. This is an exciting opportunity for self-motivated lawyers who love the idea of solving for complex problems in a startup environment.
Key job responsibilities
As the Corporate Counsel, WW Operations, based in Cairo, Egypt, you will be the primary lawyer for supporting the fulfilment and logistics business teams in Egypt. You will be required to advise on varied areas of law including environment, health and safety, diversity, compliance, transportation and sustainability. In order to effectively deliver in this role, you will need to partner closely with cross functional teams including business, compliance, finance, HR, PR, technology, wider legal team and Public Policy on a broad array of issues and projects. You must be willing to engage with regulators as needed and interested in strategizing on pre -litigation disputes. You will be expected to carry out periodic trainings for the teams you support. You will also be responsible to monitor and publish regulatory changes, and work with various internal teams to drive compliance.
This is an individual contributor position based in Cairo. Some domestic and international travel may be required. The role will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel, WW Operations.

You will be part of a team which encourages having candid conversations, bringing new ideas and having fun while working hard. Though this is an Egypt specific role, you will also engage with global counterparts from WW ops team to collaborate on impactful projects.
