**Role purpose**:
This role is part of the centralised IT team in Vodafone Shared Services. The Data NW & Voice Sr. Specialist owns, supports and manages VSS Network & Voice connectivity domains for the entire VOIS EG organisation, The role is responsible to ensure scalability, sustainability, consistency in VOIS wide Network and compliancy to Vodafone Group standards, as well as to drive virtualization, Cloud and Digital to support Group Technology Cloud targets for 2020 for Voice & Data services
The Data NW & Voice Sr. Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining VoIP networks by being a part of large telecommunications and network team, and also for day-to-day operations and to handle unified voice, data, and video services within organizations, and WANs/LANs/MANs. Besides, he/she should document modifications to the infrastructure. They partner with other technical team members for safely and properly installing wiring, cabling, and other electrical equipment.
**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:
- Manage & maintain Network and Voice connectivity topics and issues for VOIS EG
- Oversee to isolate performance and capacity issues for telecommunications traffic so that telecommunications systems are operating without any downtimes,
- Manage and implement patches to systems and hardware. Analyzes, administers and maintains voice, video, and/or data communications networks & manages the usage & performance
- Provide Level 2 & 3 support for production voice connectivity issues and identify improvement areas.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Voice, NW & infrastructure-related topics within VOIS EG
**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:
- Deep technical expertise in Enterprise Voice & Network infrastructure. Deep understanding of ITSM Processes and related tools for implementation of Process such as Event Management, Incident & Service Request Management, Problem & Change Management.
- Deep understanding of Network infrastructure DHCP, DNS, Proxy, Routing, switching, VPN
- Proven track-record in defining infrastructure solution designs for complex IT projects. Responsible to ensure scalability, sustainability, consistency in VOIS EG infrastructure and compliancy to Vodafone Group standards.
- Expert in telephony protocols, such as SIP, TCP/IP, H323, QoS, etc. & evaluate existing capabilities and aid in planning guidelines to tap emerging trends in cloud, VoIP, mobility solutions and managed services.
- Experience working for a large scale global communication service provider or IT organisation
**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:
- BE/BTech/MCA/Diploma with ITIL/CCNP/Cloud Certification
- 2+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure Support & Design knowledge in CCNA.
- Must have Design experience in AVAYA, GENESYS, LAN, WAN, WLAN,MPLS, IPsec, GRE. Experience in CISCO PIX, CISCO VOIP telephony systems
- Exposure and strong experience in Routing and Security protocols, Monitoring tools, Wireshark, Splunk.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to simplify technical details. Incident, change and Problem Management.
