These credit lines are branded as the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF).

The GEFF is a financing platform led by the EBRD with participation from other development organizations including the European Union (EU). It was created to avail capital investment to locally operating banks for lending to private businesses investing in green solutions. In addition to making capital available for financing projects, GEFF also offers cash back incentives for business owners upon the successful implementation of their green projects.

Stantec’s team in Egypt has been successfully and efficiently providing support to all GEFF credit lines since 2017, making sure that invested capitals in green solutions are in line with the criteria set by the EBRD and its partners, and that applied green solutions and technologies would achieve the main objective of mitigating the threat of climate change.

We are currently seeking to retain the services of a motivated and experienced engineering expert who is verse with the energy and environmental sustainability principles as well as the relevant local and global mandates and frameworks. The individual will join our highly qualified multidisciplinary GEFF team in Egypt to provide the necessary technical support for the next 3 years to continue with the successful implementation of the currently active GEFF credit lines.

The selected individual will be responsible specifically for conducting technical assessments of GEFF proposed green investments including evaluating of he promised energy and environmental and or impacts, Other key responsibility for this position is assessing the technical as well as the commercial risks associated with the investment and proposing risk mitigation measures to help ensure the financial health of the implemented projects.

The selected individual will
- Conduct technical assessments of green investments, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with project team members to identify sustainable solutions and technologies that align with project goals.
- Provide expertise and guidance on sustainable development practices, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Review and evaluate project proposals, feasibility studies, and technical reports to ensure alignment with the EBRD’s Green Economy Transition (GET) guidelines.
- Conduct site visits to as part of the delivering assessment report.
- Engage with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to promote sustainability and address any concerns or challenges.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the field of sustainable development.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- 7 years of relevant experience in energy and environmental engineering and or other sustainability-related fields. However, years of experience may be flexible if past experiences align strongly with the duties of the position.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable development principles, green technologies, energy engineering, and environmental policies and regulations.
- Experience in conducting technical assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments for green investments.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex technical information. Ability to perform technical research will be an asset.
- Adequate communication skills to facilitate support to the GEFF stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver ng high-quality reports in both the Arabic and English languages.
