**Role Purpose**:
Interact with patient and patient group stakeholders (PAGs) and represent Janssen JENA with external bodies (e.g. PAGs, MOH etc.) to shape external environment to achieve and maintain accelerated, broad market, patient access whilst also driving the patient centricity strategy for Janssen in the JENA.

Provide strategic counsel on patient advocacy and how it relates to the business

Support the development and execution of the Janssen JENA PEA strategy.

Develop relationships with key external partners, particularly PAGs and then project manage those collaborations that drive Janssen JENA’s business.

Represent Janssen JENA with Patient Advocacy Groups with regards to all issues associated with the JENA business to ensure Janssen JENA perspective is heard and viewed positively and from time to time engage with NHS, social care and government officials.

**Scope**:Create PAG / Patients events, partnerships and support (Iconnect)

Strategically Drive & implement PSPs in full alignment with the MAF & in collaboration with the CVT TA strategic objectives.

Creation and review of PAG and GA materials.

Ensure compliance with Local Regulations of the country relating to GOs and PAGs

Take ownership of the SOP relating to patient engagement in the JENA

**Not Expected to**:
Have final sign off on company to government communications where Managing Director, MAF Director or other Management Committee member approval is required

**Key Role Activities**:
PAE S

Become Janssen JENA Lead contact for a number of strategic partnerships with external stakeholders across assigned therapy areas including:

- Project management, regular reporting of progress and status updates to Janssen and its partners
- Horizon scanning and provision of updates on significant external developments (PAGs Dynamics, Patients’ Voice, TA dynamics )
- Provision of insight and strategic counsel to business partners
- Full alignment with colleagues in the MAF function to ensure we are making the most of J&J strategy and positions
- In full alignment with MAF ,PSPs project management.
- Act as a point of contact within assigned therapy area for PAGs.
- Ensure compliance per the Local Regulations and SOPs.
- Deliver and drive initiatives that enhances Janssen’s desire to be the most patient centric company across all therapy areas where it has products.
- Aligns with regional and global PAE strategies to ensure continuity across the business.

**Relationship with CVT/therapeutic areas and EMEA/Global PAE networks**:

- Maintains relationships with senior colleagues across the JENA as well as EMEA and Global to ensure that synergies in the J&J Government Affairs approach can be harmonised, leveraged and best practice shared.
- Mentor and coach any potential (graduate) direct reports within the team to fulfil their responsibilities in terms of engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

**Government Affairs**:

- Support colleagues within the PEGA function and look for opportunities to grow understanding of the government affairs function within the team.

**External relationships**:

- Pro-actively build and maintain relationships with PAGs, Government officials, policy makers, and other relevant bodies to shape the external healthcare environment.
- Actively contribute to the development of national-level Patient Engagement policy through active engagement with key stakeholders in full compliance with the local regulations & SOPs.

**Represent JENA with EMEA and Global**:

- Actively participate in EMEA PAE network and the EMEA EGAC when needed

**Maintaining technical knowledge**:

- Keep abreast of changes in the health system and understand implications for our current and future products.

**Other activities**:

- Answer requests from government, media, patient advocacy groups, members of the public and relevant internal customers concerning patient advocacy and engagement in a timely manner.
