Construction Superintendent
The Construction Superintendent will report to and assist the Company EPCI Fabrication Manager to provide Company oversight for Contractor Construction and Fabrication activities. This includes HSE, QA/QC, and Construction oversight for the onshore fabrication, testing, and load-out of the rigid and flexible pipeline structures, jumpers, foundations, and installation aids.
Activities
- Report to the Company EPCI Fabrication Manager to provide oversight of fabrication activities.
- Support the Company EPCI Fabrication Manager by participating in HAZIDs, Risk Reviews, constructability reviews, and any other fabrication related meetings as directed.
- Review Contractor fabrication plans, procedures, drawings, and schedules as directed.
- Report to any issues that could impact the quality of the fabricated items to the Company EPCI Fabrication Manager.
- Witness onsite FAT and SIT activities as directed.
- Identify issues that could have schedule impacts and report them to the Company EPCI Fabrication Manager
- Attend daily construction meetings with Contractor.
- Attend weekly construction meeting with Contractor.
- Attend weekly QC meetings with Contractor if required (i.e., QC issues potentially impacting progress).
- Adjust working location between the different construction yards as directed by the Company EPCI Fabrication Manager
- Ensure close coordination with Company QC team to ensure that all activities are completed per the required ITP sequence to avoid any delays/impacts and look at ways to mitigate/implement.
- Be present for and witness all loadouts.
- Coordinate with Company QC team to ensure that all sea fastenings are properly inspected/examined before sail-away.
- Coordinate with Marine Warranty Surveyor and ensure that ballasting is in accordance with ballasting plan before sail-away.
Context and environment
- US $20 Billion investment, 17,000-acre LNG facility site that includes private airstrip, marine facilities, and 18 subsea wells - 5-year construction period, delivered utilizing a staff of 1500+ employees and contractors based in Houston, Milan, Paris, Singapore and Mozambique
- 12.88 MTPA from 2 Initial Trains - 25-year production period
- Mozambique LNG is a subsea (1,400m) to shore dry gas field development located in the norther part of Mozambique
- The subsea field will be developed via 18 subsea wells, 7-production manifolds, 1-MEG manifold, 3 x 22in trunk lines, a 6in and 8in MEG lines, 18 x 10in in-field flowlines, 2 x 4in in-field MEG lines, associated ILTs and PLETs for all pipelines and flowlines, 25 control modules, 4 onshore umbilicals, 2 main tie-back umbilicals, 5 in-field umbilicals, 12 UTA assemblies, 189 electro hydraulic flying leads, 48 x 10" flexible jumpers, rigid jumpers and spools.
Accountabilities
- Support the Company EPCI Fabrication Manager in overseeing all onsite fabrication activities.
- Replace and act as Company Site Representative when the Company EPCI Fabrication Manager is absent (i.e., Deputy EPCI Fabrication Manager)
- Report directly to EPCI Manager when acting as Company Deputy EPCI Fabrication Manager.
Qualifications/Experience required
- Minimum of 10 years relevant track record covering technical aspects of fabrication of subsea equipment in an Oil and Gas environment.
- Experienced engineer, able to assess and constructively challenge contractor technical recommendations and assist contractor to arrive to best for project outcomes.
- Ability to get along well with others in an international / multi-cultural environment and take a pragmatic approach to problem solving situations.
- Ability to multi-task and work as part of small and flexible team.
- Desire to take responsibility for own area of work and to hold self-accountable to deliver in accordance with responsibilities.
- Ability to develop good working relationships with contractors and contractor personnel and progress collaborative problem solving.
- Fluency in the English language.
