**Role purpose**:
This role is part of the internal IT team at VOIS Egypt. The person is a technical expert ensuring the implementation of state of the art security systems in accordance to the Information Security policies.
The role collaborates closely with the Information Security teams within other VOIS centres as well as other Group Security Architecture and planning teams to ensure that the both Vodafone Group and VOIS-wide guidelines and policies are implemented in VOIS Egypt. Furthermore the role leads several initiatives cross VOIS locations to leverage the skills for other locations.
The security architect lead provides technical knowledge and insights to fellow security architects and implementation engineers.
The individual will ensure the overall setup in VOIS EG is secure, resilient, fault tolerant, and compliant with Vodafone IT and Security policies.

**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:

- Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments
- Research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them.
- Maintain the highest network systems availability for systems on hand as per agreement with management and keep records of down time.
- Plan for disaster recovery and create contingency plans in the event of any security breaches
- Test and evaluate security products
- Design new security systems or upgrade existing ones
- Review technical solution designs for compliance with the VOIS-wide Information Security policies
- Engage in 'ethical hacking', for example, simulating security breaches
- Identify potential weaknesses and implement measures, such as firewalls and encryption
- Follow-up and resolve open issues identified through internal and external Information Security audits
- Liaise with stakeholders in relation to cyber security issues and provide future recommendations
- Consult IT delivery projects in Information Security and data protection topics
- Generate reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders
- Assist with internal and external audits relating to information security
- Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training for colleagues

**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- Strong experience of designing, implementing and operating security controls in a complex IT and Network environment
- Experience in Single Sign-On (SSO) identity management systems using PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and Certification Authorities (CA), Firewalled demilitarized zones off network routers, Protocol encryption including SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and the WPA (Wifi Protected Access) family, Virtual Private Network (VPN) layers and connections between sites and system
- Excellent awareness of standards such as: ISO27001, Risk Management (e.g. ISO 31000).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Strong knowledge of IT service management processes (e.g. ITIL)
- Extensive operational experience in running a globally distributed IT service organisation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven capability in influencing diverse senior leaders across business.
- Ability to understand and communicate strategic issues at board/director level.

**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:

- 7+ years of experience in IT Information Security
