Purpose of this role:
HEOR lead is a non-customer facing role acts as Health Economic Outcome Research and reimbursement expert to internal customers and external stakeholders. The purpose of this role is to support cross-functional team to attain ideal reimbursement status and product uptake for Pfizer products through:
- The development and leveraging of clinical, economic and humanistic evidence to demonstrate the value of Pfizer’s products
- The support of pricing negotiation strategies, including value-based pricing, where possible
- Engaging with external stakeholders
**Responsibilities**:
- Plans and executes different aspects of HTA dossiers for reimbursement submissions
- Leads the customization of global and/or development of local HTA/HEOR materials/models/data, leveraging all available research (clinical studies, observational studies, literature, etc.) for HTA dossiers
- Actively engages in the scientific discourse of health economics and outcomes research for Pfizer.
- Understands HTA and public and private payer processes and payer value drivers. Uses this to provide payer insights into Pfizer access and commercial planning.
- Uses deep knowledge of local HTA and payer processes to shape the environment to improve access at a system level.
- Delivers value story to support product formulary listings and reimbursement objectives to external stakeholders (e.g. KOLs, Academia, Clinicians, Researchers, HTA bodies, local ISPOR, and payers) via different channels, e.g. meetings, conferences, and publications
- Anticipates customer evidence needs for product/indication reimbursement across the product life cycle, creating and evolving value propositions as needed, and then ensuring data is available to support those messages.
- Works with cross-functional team members in development and execution of market access plan, and medical or marketing activities
- Train and support Market Access and Account Access Mangers on relevant HEOR data, cost-effectiveness models and budget impact models
- Work closely with Marketing, Clinical/Medical, and other functional teams to support and improve access to our marketed products
Key Deliverables:
- HTA dossiers for product reimbursement when applicable.
- Planning and execution of reimbursement and HEOR strategy (Inc. local data development as needed) across therapeutic areas and for current and future breakthroughs
- Local adaptation of global HTA/HEOR materials (e.g. value dossiers and propositions, cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models) where possible and development of local materials/models/data where not
- Product value propositions relevant to local market
- Support reimbursement plan development and implementation, including price negotiation as applicable
- Alignment of the health economics and outcomes research program with the overall access and brand strategy
- Monitoring and measuring the success of reimbursement strategies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare science (or equivalent)
- Post graduate degree in Health economics or Pharmacoeconomics is preferable.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or health economics domain is required.
- Broad Therapeutic Area experience is an advantage.
- An understanding of clinical development strategies and trial designs
- Experience of local laws & regulations and reimbursement process is required.
- knowledge of health technology assessment processes and guidelines.
- Proficient in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage.
- Results oriented and excellent analytic and collaboration skills combined with robust project management capabilities
