Mavericks School seeks a School Leader who has experience working in progressive learning environments. Leading a learning community that seeks to operate differently than traditional schools takes courage, creativity, and a ton of heart. We are looking for a special individual who - rather than runs from a challenge - embraces it, who espouses our core values of passion (love what you do), growth (learn every day), ownership (run it like you own it), and empathy (everybody counts), and who can mentor teachers in strategies of progressive education.
**Job Description** Learning Experience**
- Ensure the school environment is prepared, safe and equipped.
- Plan and follow up with Operations team to ensure necessary resources (devices, supplies, furniture, connectivity) are available for staff.
- Plan and follow up with stage Leads (KG Lead and Elementary Lead) on arrangements of school events and special projects, such as - _but not limited to - _author’s celebration, STEAM Fair, International Day and Art Gallery.
- Plan and communicate school schedule.
- Ensure accurate implementation of staff and parent handbooks.
**Educational Program**
- Collaborating with and supporting the Education Director in designing Mavericks School experience, including daily routine, classroom teacher job descriptions, schedules and more.
- Design, develop and recommend new programs, curricula and learning designs as well as contributing to the formation of educational strategies and plans.
- Support in creation and iteration of G1-6 curricula.
- Overseeing the observation and evaluations of teachers on Mavericks campuses.
- Planning and executing teacher development programs and trainings with internal and external parties taking part in delivering some Teacher Training Workshops of relevant and useful content.
- Order the purchase of learning/classroom resources required for the proper functioning of curricular goals from the operations team.
**Team Management & Leadership**
- Manage an administration staff of Elementary Lead and a KG Lead.
- Support the KG Coach and Operations Supervisor to perform their duties in alignment with campus objectives and Mavericks learning experience.
- Liaise with Operations Manager to identify campus operational priorities and plan operational tasks.
- Set and communicate campus quarterly priorities and special projects to the team.
- Emphasize and exemplify Mavericks culture and core values.
- Plan and execute team building and development opportunities.
- Hold regular all-team (monthly), admin team and teaching staff meetings (weekly).
- Ensure staff adherence to staff handbook as reported by HR Personnel Specialist.
- Provide regular and objective feedback on performance to team members.
- Make rehire or termination decisions (shared decision with Education Team for teachers).
- Interview and make hiring decisions throughout the school year (shared decision with Education Team for teachers).
- Identify hiring needs for the following school year and finalize hiring decisions (shared decision with Education Team for teachers).
**Community Management**
- Identify and plan communication tasks and community building projects for Mavericks community (parents, staff and students) to envision and educate them on Mavericks core values, learning experience and important information.
- Ensure parent-teacher interaction is taking place with the maximum possible effectiveness and efficiency as reported by Mavericks parent communication system.
**Admission**
- Assign admissions task force to undergo student and parent assessments.
- Ensure the implementation of assessment as per Mavericks policy and SOPs.
- Follow up on and participate in admissions activities (sessions, media recordings, announcements).
- Ensure admissions targets are achieved.
- Supervise the admissions process to ensure the right match between Mavericks and new parents.
**Stakeholder Relationship Management**
- Report campus performance, challenges and opportunities to Mavericks Leadership Team.
- Communicate goals and updates from management company to School Team.
**Financial**
- Lead different school functions to plan the annual budget in coordination with the finance team.
- Manage school budget through approval of purchase requests according to planned budget and working with the finance team to control the budget.
- Make financial decisions to set spending priorities or cut costs.
