We're looking for a passionate and skilled **Lawyer **to join our **Legal & Tax team**.
Given our complex structure with multiple subsidiaries and a foreign parent company, this role offers a unique opportunity to navigate an international legal and regulatory challenges.
**Main assignments in the role**:
- Serve as legal counsel for multiple business units within our international organization.
- Assist with drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of agreements and commercial documents, e.g., customer, partner, vendor, intra-group and third-party agreements.
- Assist with recordkeeping, drafting and reviewing corporate documents for our international organization.
- Assist with organizing the company's Intellectual Property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.
- Advise on tax-related matters, working closely with our accounting team.
- Communicate with and respond to inquiries from local and foreign authorities, regulatory agencies, customers, and other relevant parties.
- Monitor and review government regulations and assisting with the development and compliance thereof.
- Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures, and programs, e.g. applicable data protection policies.
- Provide ad-hoc legal support to the international organization.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Master’s degree in law.
- 3-5 years’ experience from an in-house or similar role.
- Good knowledge and understanding of corporate, commercial and tax law, with an ability to manage diverse legal matters.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity and sound judgement.
- Proficient in adapting to and becoming familiar with applicable law, including foreign legislation or legal sources when required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate legal information to non-legal professionals.
- Strong organizational and ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and meet simultaneous deadlines.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments, particularly in a multicultural and diverse setting. Fluency in both Icelandic and English (written and verbal), with excellent interpersonal skills.
- In this role you will be part of our Legal & Tax team and report directly to the General Counsel.
