Amentum is actively seeking a Knox Perry Planning Office (KPPO) Manager for International Fleet Support under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS 326 Follow-On Technical Support (FOTS) contract. **This is a full-time position, and the work location will be at the Egyptian Naval Base in the port of Alexandria, Egypt. **This position includes a competitive benefits package.
**Essential responsibilities and daily duties include**:
- Acts as top decision maker for all planning team matters and resolve any internal issues that arise over the planning/technical repairs and assessment needs for the Egyptian Navy (EN) Fleet.
- Meets or exceeds customers' realistic expectations for quality, productivity, and safety on projects and repairs. Manages the customer relationship through any changes in the scope and schedule changes of the fleet to assure continuing customer satisfaction and technical repairs.
- Resolves issues daily with customers, owners, and other interested parties. Represents the company fairly and consistently when interacting with customers.
- Works closely with the EN, Planning Team, Production Team, and Port Engineers to estimate, plan, and execute the planning needs for the EN Fleet. Advises the In-country Program Manager of opportunities to increase productivity and avoid delays.
- Plans, coordinates, and directs planning activities for assigned projects. Assures appropriate daily team staffing for planning, through subordinate supervision. Oversees audits for subordinates’ reporting and monitor job progress to ensure that manpower utilization and allocation meets the job requirements. Makes appropriate changes as necessary.
- Prepares periodic management reports on work progress, materials used and costs. Adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports to ensure adherence to the work process.
- Reviews P6 Maintenance Availability schedules.
- Reviews and provides input support for the Long-Range Maintenance Plan (LRMP).
- Reviews and approves local procurement purchase requests.
- Provides daily coordination and recommendations with EN KPPO Manager on emergent repair priorities.
- Reviews Repair Work Item (JOB) package prior to issue.
- Reviews maintenance availability packages via the Work Definition Conference (WDC) process.
- Maintains effective working relationships with workers, customers, and Port Engineers. Assures that issues are resolved efficiently and with mínimal disruption to the project, when complaints or disputes occur, whether directly or through managers, supervisors, or other resource.
- Leads the planning team in a postmortem review of each completed project and assure complete documentation and dissemination of all lessons learned to capture best practices and to avoid repeating mistakes. Ensures that lessons learned on projects are captured in the preplanning phase of new projects.
- Ensures worker safety and environmental concerns are constantly monitored, and problems are effectively resolved.
- Assesses and documents overall work performance of direct reports by completion of tasks. Identifies strengths and weaknesses of planning team members and recommends specific development activities.
- Manages and provides oversight for the planning team and/or vendor performance on the project, including setting expectations for such groups.
- Monitors job progress and uses earned value management techniques to identify problem areas and forecast costs.
- Provides timely and comprehensive inputs for the Monthly Status Report.
**Minimum Requirements**
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of experience providing work package planning and estimating support for naval vessel availabilities.
- Possess strong leadership skills, including conflict resolution, real-time decision-making, high performance expectations and the capability of inspiring the team to meet them.
- Strong customer relationship skills to achieve customer satisfaction through their buy-in to business and project realities rather than diluting project actuals.
- Must have leadership experience, leading a team of 5-10 personnel.
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency with basic computer operation with ability to create and maintain various reports and spreadsheets, as required.
- Ability to maintain a strong working relationship with EN counterparts in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to obtain a Country Clearance and Base Pass authorization.
- Ability to possess a current passport at least two years before expiration after arrival in Egypt.
- Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Prior ship availability planning experience.
- Experience working in an Arab country for long periods.
