The position

The position is Aswan based and open for people in Aswan and Upper Egypt.

**BACKGROUND**:
The Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is an Egyptian non-profit organization established in 1991 under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Solidarity. OHF is the implementation agency for the Aga Khan Foundation Egypt and an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network, founded by Om Habibeh Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga Khan to contribute to and support local communities in the governorate of Aswan in areas including health care, education, and providing income for deprived communities through long-term development activities. OHF works in the following areas: Continuing Education, Civil Society, Agriculture and Food Security, Economic Inclusion, Women Empowerment and Early Childhood Development.

Om Habibeh Foundation will implement the project “Enhancing the community participation of youth and girls including persons with disabilities, for better rehabilitation” funded by the GIZ - Equal Opportunities & Social Development (EOSD) Project, which aims at strengthening the social participation practices in targeted communities and develop capacities of rehabilitation entities.

**POSITION OBJECTIVES**:
The Disability Field Officer’s role is to advise the project team and to ensure that people with disabilities are able to get fully involved in the project activities and that their views and concerns are reflected. The incumbent will be responsible for the achievement of results in accordance with the project document under the supervision of the Project Manager.

**CORE RESPONSIBILTIES**:
Work closely with the project team and in planning project activities with partner CSOs.
Ensure the concerns of people with disabilities are reflected and fully meet the needs of people with disabilities.
Support the project members in building their capacities on the needs of disabled people.
Communicate with partner CSOs, government departments, and key community members to implement the project's activities.
Implement field visits to monitor and oversee activities related to initiatives implemented by partner CSOs.
Support officials of partner CSOs in enhancing the participation of persons with disabilities in their communities.
Work with the project team in building the capacity of partners CSOs, beneficiaries, and community members in relation to people with disabilities, and meeting their needs.
Mapping and sharing information and opportunities such as services, training, jobs, internships, events,... etc in Aswan Governorate for target groups (girls, youth, and people with disabilities).
Participate with the project’s team in organizing parents’ awareness sessions and coordinating with partner CSOs in implementation.
Prepare and coordinate all the training activities suitable for persons with disabilities and making the project’s activities accessible to them.
Build strong relations and network with related entities in and out of Aswan governorate.
Participate in meetings with the target groups.
Work with the M&E department to plan and implement the focus’ groups discussions.
Evaluate the activities of the project for the target groups.
Prepare logistics and arrangements for activities.
Report on the activities.
Conduct any other relevant tasks in the project as required.

The requirements

**QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE**:
Holding a BA degree in a related field.
5-10 years of experience in the field of community development particularly with people with disabilities.
Ability to build good relationships with government and civil community leaders.
The ability to think “outside the box” to create new solutions and new partnerships.
Availability to work outside of regular business hours.
Good knowledge of English and Arabic Languages.
Very good communication skills.
Knowledge of the use of social and professional media.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Professional appearance and demeanour.
