**Responsibilities**:
AWS Database Management: Deploy, configure, and manage database instances using AWS services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon DynamoDB. Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Performance Tuning and Optimization: Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks, optimizing queries, and improving overall system performance. Implement monitoring tools and establish proactive alerting systems to detect and address issues promptly.

Backup, Recovery, and Security: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity and ensure disaster recovery readiness. Implement and enforce security measures, including access controls, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.

Automation and Infrastructure as Code: Utilize infrastructure as code principles to automate database deployments, updates, and maintenance tasks using AWS CloudFormation and other relevant tools. Continuously improve database provisioning and management processes.

Troubleshooting and Support: Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, errors, and system outages. Provide technical support and guidance to development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including database schemas, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Share knowledge and best practices with team members and actively contribute to the growth and development of the DBA team.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, preferably with a strong focus on AWS technologies and services.
- Proficiency in AWS database services, particularly Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon DynamoDB.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with query optimization techniques.
- Deep understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security practices.
- Experience with data migration and integration tools and techniques.
- Solid scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and infrastructure as code.
- AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Database - Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
