AWS Migration & CloudOps Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled AWS Migration & CloudOps Engineer to support our AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP). This role involves designing, planning, and executing cloud migration strategies while ensuring operational excellence in cloud environments. You will work with AWS services, automation tools, and best practices to optimize cloud adoption and post-migration operations.
Key Responsibilities:
AWS Migration & Modernization:
- Assess existing IT infrastructure and develop migration strategies aligned with AWS MAP.
- Utilize AWS Migration Hub, AWS MGN, DMS, SMS, and CloudEndure for seamless workload migration.
- Design and implement AWS compute, storage, database, and networking solutions (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Direct Connect).
- Automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
- Support hybrid cloud solutions, including VMware Cloud on AWS, Outposts, and Active Directory.
CloudOps & Post-Migration Operations:
- Monitor and maintain cloud workloads using CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, AWS Config, and Trusted Advisor.
- Implement proactive incident response, performance tuning, and troubleshooting for cloud environments.
- Ensure security compliance with IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail.
- Manage patching, backup, and disaster recovery using AWS Backup, SSM, and AWS Resilience Hub.
- Optimize cloud costs using AWS Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, and Compute Optimizer.
- Automate operational tasks using Python, Bash, PowerShell, and AWS Lambda.
DevOps & CI/CD Integration:
- Support DevOps practices by integrating CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Manage containerized workloads using EKS, ECS, Fargate, and Docker.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for continuous deployment and automation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in AWS cloud migration, CloudOps, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with AWS migration tools (MGN, DMS, SMS, CloudEndure).
- Strong expertise in AWS networking (VPC, Route 53, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, AWS CLI, Lambda).
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK Stack, AWS X-Ray).
- Knowledge of security best practices, compliance, and IAM policies.
- Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework and cloud cost management.
- Experience with ITSM, incident management, and operational workflows.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience with hybrid cloud setups (AWS Outposts, VMware Cloud on AWS).
- Experience in large-scale enterprise migrations and cloud optimization.
