We seek an experienced, well-qualified and flexible teacher of Physical Education to teach across the age range from 3 to 18. You will be working as part of a highly committed team of specialists delivering curriculum PE, including IGCSE, and sport as part of the co-curricular programme. The Physical Education Department works effectively as a team across the whole school, sharing ideas, promoting learning and contributing to high academic standards. Previous experience of teaching Physical Education in a UK National Curriculum or a British-style international school context is desirable.

BISC offers opportunities for personal professional development and all members of staff actively contribute to whole-school improvement. Teachers are expected to show a genuine commitment to the School's mission, to promoting student welfare and to participate actively in the co-curricular programme. This is a key component of the role of a PE teacher in the school.

**Person Specification**
- enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a genuine passion for teaching, who can motivate and inspire students using a variety of strategies;
- recent experience teaching PE within the National Curriculum for England and (I)GCSE;
- includes Assessment for Learning as an integral part of classroom practice;
- understands how to stretch more able students and support weaker pupils;
- works collaboratively as a member of a team;
- committed to her/his own professional development;
- understands an inquiry-based approach to learning;
- committed to a holistic approach to education;
- enjoys the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities;
- meets the school’s Safeguarding requirements in full.
