**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**PLTI IT Academy**
- The instructor will teach students prominent in English and Arabic Languages respectively. (The courses are mostly in English but should be able to explain some contents in Arabic)
- The instructor will teach CompTIA's certification(s) course training under the PLTI IT Academy, so must have successfully completed the CompTIA training and certification; as well as the Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) training and certification for instructors to achieve proficiency in CompTIA's curriculum and teaching methods.
**Classroom Facilitation**
- Must assess every student’s learning needs and develop an individualised and customised plan of action, which the instructor must monitor and measure on a monthly basis towards a successful completion of the coursework.
- Conduct a highly interactive, hands-on style of teaching and facilitation in a formal and virtual classroom setting, manage the sessions (the sessions are to be discussed and scheduled); as well as facilitate structured and informal lab work for students.
- Utilise CompTIA’s online platform thoroughly for assignments, tests, and real-time performance monitoring.
**Managing Student Performance**
- Provide students with ongoing feedback, conferencing, and performance appraisals. Recognise any challenges early and work with the team and students to overcome them.
- Prepare student evaluations individually and in conjunction with the rest of the program team, consisting of vocational programs.
- Participate in all required student progress meetings with other members of the above program team.
- Monitor and hold students accountable to the PLTI enrollment agreement.
- Ensure class completion rate and/or at least an 80% pass rate on CompTIA’s certification exams.
**Curriculum and Lab**
- Provide input and work closely with the Director of Student Experience to provide ongoing adaptation to the CompTIA curriculum and lesson plans, as well as co-teach coursework modules to students.
- Lead and facilitate lab work to the above students on their independent projects and learning in this environment, including keeping content current and relevant as well as creating additional labs, if required.
- Prepare networking equipment, computers, hardware and software before each class start. If any sort of assistance is needed our technical department could be contacted.
**Administrative**
- Participate in all meet/team meetings.
- Conduct real-time student data entry in organisational database.
- Prepare progress notes and other program monitoring reports.
- Other duties as required_
**TECHNICAL SKILLS**:Proficient in Microsoft Office including use of Word and Excel.
**EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES/LICENSES**:
- A bachelor degree in the related field is preferred.
- CompTIA certification required in the related training; and other CompTIA + certification(s) is plausible.
**WORK DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT**:
- Should have organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to use independent judgement and initiative.
- Should be proficient in verbal and written communications skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Active listener with ability to build rapport with diverse learners.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate blended learning training models (i.e., classroom facilitation, web-based instruction; student self-directed learning, etc).
- Commitment to the mission of PLTI and a passion for teaching others.
- Ability to use creativity and enthusiasm to motivate people and tailor learning activities to meet group and individual needs.
- Good record-keeping skills to accurately track attendance, program participation, and other data.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to continuous changes in the curriculum and program.
- Staying current in trends in the industry as they impact the class and coursework.
- Adapt and be professional, motivational and teamwork-oriented environment.
- Technical instruction skills and technical leadership capability.
**PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Minimum 1 year experience working in the IT Field required.
- Having 1+ year(s) of teaching experience and facilitation of training to young adults and adults preferred.
- Functional knowledge of lesson plan development, classroom management and basic teaching methods for adults. Ability to teach in a highly interactive and hands-on style, and to analyse and synthesise technical information.
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office; be familiar of Smart Board technology.
- Familiar with Adult Career and Continuing Education Services.
**FOREIGN LANGUAGE SKILLS**:
- English and Arabic is required. Other languages would be helpful.
