Job Description
  • Ensure that every case is assigned to a PSW and has a first interview in a timely manner.
  • Each NEW case is reviewed with the Team of psychosocial workers.
  • A Plan of Action is developed with the assigned PSW for each NEW case.
  • The process of case review includes: The client’s symptoms are described by the PSW and based on this description the psychiatrist recommends the necessary management of this case including the recommended outpatient clinic. The PSS and PSW discuss and agree on the psychosocial support needed i.e.: number of visits that the PSW should make weekly.
  • Other aspects of the case management are discussed. The basic needs of the client such as health, finances, food, housing, community involvement, job and skills development are discussed. The assigned PSW and the team share ideas that need to be added to the Plan of Action.
  • Review all mental health emergency cases that happened this week.
  • PSWs are asked about the date they visited a hospitalized patient to ensure regular psychosocial support.
  • The progress of each hospitalized patient and the Plan of Action for treatment is reviewed.
  • The plan of discharge is reviewed ensuring that family/ community are aware and housing, financial aid and all other issues are prepared in advance.
  • Provide a monthly update to the MHC about the Financial Assistance Status of each hospitalized client.
  • Updates of cases discussed in last week’s meetings are discussed to review the progress of cases and ensure that plans are followed.
  • Review is made of all cases needing special attention or regular follow up (Non-compliant clients, clients who have been neglected by the PSW, uncooperative clients, clients recently discharged from a hospital or who are thought to be in need of admission).
  • Use the google doc to mark cases that need special attention, add notes, updates and remarks during or directly after the team meeting to aid in the process of follow up.
Job Requirements
  • Medical school bachelor's degree
  • 2 years or more experience, a master's degree in psychiatry is preferable.
  • Ability to work with different teams and partners
  • Motivated and flexible worker.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good analytic skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff.
  • Preferable experience of working with Refugees/ NGOs / multinational mental health clients.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent English is spoken and written language.
