Teacher of Chemistry- British School

We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Teacher of Chemistry to join our British School Team from 1 September 2024.
This is a role that will involve teaching MYP Sciences as well as IGCSE and/or A-Level Physics. The successful candidate will work within our Science Department, and will join with the wider staff team to promote interdisciplinary thinking, connection to real life situations, and to support our whole school's continuing priority of improving student literacy.
This is a role that will involve teaching across the secondary age range, including IBMYP (Years 7 and 8) as well as IGCSE (Years 9, 10, 11). There may also be scope for A-Level teaching. The successful candidate will work within our Science Department, and will join with the wider staff team to promote interdisciplinary thinking, connection to real life situations, and to support our whole school's continuing priority of improving student literacy.

You will need:
A Teaching qualification that meets the requirements of your home-country (B.Ed, PGCE, GDE etc)Minimum 3 years post-qualification teaching experience in similar role and subject area.The willingness and ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents Skills and Knowledge Experience of teaching General Sciences and Physics to Year 7, 8, 9 as well as Years 10 and 11 is essential (Year 12 and 13 teaching experience is desirable) Experience of working with the IB MYP is desirableThe ability to teach another Science subject (in addition to Physics) to IGCSE level is desirableExperience of working with highly aspirational and able students is essentialExcellent interpersonal skills with both adults and children.Willingness and ability to work as part of a team.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to prioritize and organize your own work. Ability to work effectively to a high standard, on occasion, under pressure, meeting deadlines.Knowledge of Health and Safety & Safeguarding/Child Protection procedures and their application.Knowledge of computers and ability to use ICT tools for record-keeping and as an instructional tool.Ability to act as a secondary form tutor and offer enrichment and extracurricular activitiesEl Alsson British and American International School New Giza is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
