This is a Level 3 contract.

The post holder will have contact with children and young people intensively because he/she is responsible for implementing campaigns activities centred around children.


ROLE PURPOSE:


The purpose of the role is to support the ACCM in the implementation of the campaigns, and advancing children participation in various fora, for the Country Office (CO).

The post holder will work closely with the Communications team, the Program, Development and Quality (PDQ) department, and different projects.


In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Role Dimensions: Post holder will communicate and build relationships with beneficiaries (Egyptian and refugee children and their families), and with local community level organizations and government authorities, vendors, and SC staff and volunteers.

**KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: - Support the Senior Advocacy and Campaigns Officer in development and implementation of internal and external campaign initiatives including SHIFT and Generation Hope;

  • Organize and coordinate events required in internal and external campaigns and participation opportunities for children.
  • Establish relationships and work in close collaboration with stakeholders, and external consultants for campaign design and implementation.
  • Facilitate sessions conducted with children in the context of campaigns activities.
  • Provide administrative and logístical coordination required for campaigns implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in law, political sciences, economics, public policy and administration, or other equivalent degrees.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:

  • Experience in working on campaigns design and implementation.
  • Experience in working with children in campaigning contexts.
  • An interest in policy issues that impact on young people, such as poverty, mental health and exploitation, and who is passionate about achieving positive change for, and with, children and young people.
  • Commitment to and understanding of SC's mission, values, and principles including rightsbased approaches
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good English communications skills, both written and verbal;
  • Excellent personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for children.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and at different levels.
  • Good English language skills, both verbal and in writing.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in an emergency setting and/or committed to building that capacity;
  • Interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a crossculture environment.
