About the role


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Assistant Team Leader within our Croydon and Portsmouth test centre.

The purpose of the role is to strengthen management structures and providing much needed support in making us better able to deliver a quality and efficient service.

Reporting to the SELT Centre Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and keeping abreast of the day to day operations within the SELT Centre's.

You will be required to ensure a smooth operation of various processes and adherence to Trinity's' policies, procedures as well as regulatory requirements, to maintain the security and integrity of the tests.


To assist with effective administrative support to the region's SELT Test Points whilst supporting local and regional marketing and wider business development strategies.

To assist the Test Points' teams in ensuring customer service excellence.

We are looking for team members who will work to ensure the staff are happy and well-supported so the business can run smoothly, organise and delegate their workload as well as monitoring them to make sure it's done correctly.

The hours for this role are as follows - 8:15am - 6:30pm, 40 hours/week, 5 over 7 days, Monday to Sunday as determined by rota therefore weekend availability will be required.

Your time will be split between our Croydon and Portsmouth test centre locations.

About you


To be successful in this role, you will have the aptitude to lead and motivate colleagues and ensure they are delivering superb customer service.


  • Provide effective and efficient duty management of the Test Point in the absence of a Team Leader/Centre Manager, whilst supporting effective and efficient management in their presence; ensuring high standards are maintained.
  • Drive performance across the test point(s) on a daily basis, coaching colleagues and temporary workers at all times.
  • Supervise and report to Centre Manager if any policies/procedures are not adhered to, providing a critical assessment and offering support.
  • Support the Team Leader/Centre Manager in the training and development needs of Test Point staff and providing mentoring, training and coaching (especially with new starters).
