Saving children.® The UX Designer will be responsible for ensuring the user-centricity of digital product development, ideating, planning, testing, and iterating on digital product features that help fulfill the Digital team’s vision of connecting supporters, donors and fundraisers to St. Jude through engaging and inspiring digital experiences. A member of the User Experience Design team, you will work in an Agile product development environment, collaborating with product owners, scrum masters, UI developers, analysts, content strategists, and business stakeholders to connect our work with the users we serve, via research, usability testing, user-centered design, and design thinking practices. The UX Designer will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. As an advocate for the user, the UX Designer will partner with the product owner to diagnose, prioritize, and solve problems proactively. This will be accomplished by such means as information architecture, concept models, personas, usability reports, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and other artifacts of the user-centered design process. You will lead comprehensive user research and usability testing, identifying opportunities for improvement in the short and long term. You will play a key role in nurturing and promoting the user experience and design practice within the scrum team and across our digital platforms. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum (3) three years relevant work experience preferably on large, complex sites or equivalent, including experience in the role of user experience designer, information architect, product designer, usability analyst or user researcherExperience working on an enterprise Agile scrum teamExperience conducting user research including activities such as online surveys, usability testing, focus groups, user observation and field researchKnowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, user-centered design principles and practicesExperience with mockup and prototyping tools such as Sketch, InVision, Visio, OmniGraffle, Balsamiq, Axure or Adobe Creative SuiteStrong conceptual and strategic thinking skillsUnderstanding of Internet software engineering principles and techniques; familiarity with HTML authoring and web infrastructureAbility to interact well with team members and business users; excellent project management skills and excellent written and verbal communications skillsBachelor's degree in human-computer interaction, computer science, cognitive psychology, library science, industrial design, user experience design, graphic design or equivalent experience in related field required
